When you lose weight quickly, the skin under your eyes is the first place to show it. Here is exactly why — and what a cream can and cannot do about it.
01 · Why it happens there first
The skin under your eye is thin — about a quarter as thick as the skin on your cheek. Underneath it sits a small pad of fat. That pad gives the area its shape.
It isn’t sleep. That fat pad shrinks with age — and much faster after rapid weight loss. Lose it quickly, and this is the first place it shows. The skin that used to rest on it now has nothing to sit on.
What you see in the mirror isn’t really a colour. It’s a shape. The surface has become slightly concave, and a concave surface catches shadow. That shadow is what reads as tired.
02 · What you've already tried

Concealer corrects colour. You have a shape.
Adding a light-reflecting product to a hollow doesn't fill the hollow. It sits in it, creases along the fold by mid-afternoon, and often draws more attention to the shape than the shadow did on its own.
You aren't doing it wrong — you're using the right tool on the wrong problem.
Most eye creams are built for the opposite problem.
Nearly everything in the eye-care aisle is designed to reduce puffiness — caffeine to constrict vessels, cooling applicators, hydrogel patches to draw water out. Those are solutions for having too much under the eye.
Yours is the opposite. At best they do nothing; at worst, a product built to deflate the area makes a hollow slightly more hollow.
03 · Honest about the limits

Nothing you put on your skin will replace fat your body used. We aren't going to claim otherwise, and you should be suspicious of anything that does. It won't give you your face back.
What it can change.
The skin sitting over the hollow — and that matters more than you'd expect. Rapid weight loss leaves that skin drier and less resilient. Dry, thin skin creases into fine lines, looks crepey in raking light and scatters light unevenly, which deepens the shadow.
Skin that's properly hydrated and intact sits smoother, catches light more evenly and reads as rested over the same underlying shape. For most people, that's most of what they were actually looking at.
How long it takes.
Most people see nothing for the first three weeks. Eight weeks is when to judge it. Anyone promising a visible change in seven days is selling you the tint and calling it a result.

What's in it, and why.
Hexapeptide-11 and Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline support the look of firmer, more resilient skin. Sodium PCA, Glycerin and Propanediol hold water in the surface, so it looks plumper and fine lines from dryness soften. A trace of mineral pigment (CI 77491) is the tint — the part you see immediately.
How to use it.
A grain-sized amount, patted along the orbital bone with the ring finger — never dragged; the skin there is too thin to pull. Morning and night. One 15 ml jar is about six to eight weeks of twice-daily use.
